Great for workouts
I really like this app. Ive been using it, along with another timer app and Clear Timer has won my attention and affections. It is much easier to use than the Apple supplied "Clock/Alarm". Its designed like a timer,... you know like a kitchen timer. To set the time, determine hours, minutes, or seconds and simply drag your finger around the dial to the time you want. It is totally skeuomorphic. Sometimes, that just works. For 99 cents, you can go from two timers to an "infinite" number of timers (well a lot, anyway). All running at once in the background. Its really fast to set and once the alarm goes off (you have multiple choices of sounds and can purchase more) it will be quiet for a while before reminding you that the alarm went off. A lot of thought and planning, obviously went into this app. I give it 5 stars because, since I downloaded it, I have been using it on a daily basis for all types of things. Parking meters, laundry chores, cooking, contacting people at certain times and more. A Great buy! Oh! BTW. The description mentions stopwatch capabilities. To use the stopwatch set the hours, minutes and seconds to zero, and press the start button.
Love the wheel
Best timer better than the built in one
I love how I can creat multiple timers for a variety of tasks. (e.g. Setting a time for how long I have my kids spend cleaning is great!!!)
Simple and easy to use interface with the capability of multiple timers. It does what its supposed to do without fuss.
Normally I watch my iPhone clock on parking meters, but thought an app would keep me from constantly looking at my iPhone during dinner so I downloaded this app got out of my car paid for 1 hr 6 min of meter time, set the clear timer for 1 hr 1 min walked to the restaurant enjoyed my lunch checked my timer on several occasions surfed the web since it works in the background like it is advertised left the restaurant walked to my car with 8 min left on the timer wasnt worried that I saw the parking meter cop near my car until I got in the car to find a bright orange parking ticket on the windshield. I got out to verify the parking meter had minutes left on meter which showed empty, i stomped over to city hall saying the parking meter is broken and isnt keeping proper time, I know because I just downloaded this great app and it says I have 8 minutes left. They told me to set a court date and tell the judge. I decided I would until I thought maybe this app is wrong so I tested the app which does not work in the background it stops keeping time it says you have more time than you really do. Probably why others are giving good reviews they think they are doing things faster when really the app just slowed down while in background mode. Ive never had a parking ticket and got one because I trusted this app. If you want to be late buy this app.
I use this with my workout groups!
Worked perfectly for my experiment. Thank u
Was looking for a countdown timer to help me with my drills and true enough I found this one.
Excellent App Great for keeping up with a crazy schedule!
Nicely executed app
This is the only app I could find that has multiple timers that count both up and down (you have to pay as an in-app upgrade but worth the $.99 for me) - and it works well. Its nice that you can name them and the graphical interface is interesting and pretty without being overly complex. I wish it had the option to modify timers counting up (add or subtract time) while paused or even while running. Also it has a small issue taking a while to update the graphical display of the timer (its obviously counting in the background but doesnt instantly update) if you close and reopen the app. If it had both of these and maybe slightly more intuitive operation Id say its close to perfect and give it 5 stars.
Nice interface, but the app starts out in silent mode, requiring one first to visit the settings to turn on permissions for making noise whilst the phone is asleep under IOS7. Then, one has to tell the app itself that its allowed to operate in lock screen mode. Even then, not all features are fully enabled when the phone is locked. The countdown timer, for example, is silenced and only the first alarm sounds, but with no repetition as one would expect from its waking behaviour. When the phone wakes, a single alarm tone sounds again, and the first 5 of the countdown timer is spoken, but not the rest. Further, what if one prefers that the count-down timer start at 10? or 20? The app doesnt appear to allow any flexibility in this regard. All-in-all, it seems sloppy. Other alarm clocks and timers have solved this problem, so it would be nice if the developer could figure out how they did it.
Much better than the last countdown app I tried. This does exactly what I want a countdown timer to do!
i hate to write this here, but the app support on the developers website is no longer functional and there has been no response to two contact email. I love the idea of the app and of course its the only one that does what it does. I dont love the interface all the time, but thats okay..it does what it says, so I want to have more timers, but... the app wont let me upgrade anything, it keeps saying "restore failed" or something like that. Ive delete the app, upgraded, everything I could think of ands it does the same thing. is this app still being supported?
I am lucky if the app remains on-screen for more than a second or two most of the time when it’s launched. A timer SIMPLY MUST be rock-stable in order to be useful. It’s the absolutely most critical feature since you are, after all timing stuff with it. Let’s say you are timing an experiment. It crashes. Now what do you do? Thus I rate it an absolute fail. Restore purchases doesn’t function either. TOTAL FAIL. Avoid.
Terrible. Used to be good, but crashes on open. Also takes up too much memory for what its supposed to do.
very nice looking, relatively easy to use, but useless because it doesnt make noise upon completion of a timer if the phone is locked. whats the point of timing something if it doesnt alert you 100% of the time?
